Team Teal off to flying start

The Teal Pants campaign is off to rollicking start, with a lot more success likely over the next few days.
Last night at Addington – the first night of the 2021 campaign – Team Teal drivers clocked up four wins.
For every victory by a female driver during the campaign Harness Racing New Zealand and Woodlands Stud are donating $100, while a number of clubs and individuals are also adding to the cause. There will also be an array of fund raising initiatives over the next six weeks.
Money raised during the campaign will go towards funding ovarian cancer research. Last year Teal Pants raised $50,000 in this country.
Last night at Addington Cheree Wigg got the campaign off to the perfect start when Dreamsinover won at double figure odds. It was a Team Teal quinella with Colleen Negus running second with Pete’s Dash.
In Race 7 Sarah O’Reilly drove Lilac Star to victory.
Team Teal wrapped up the next two races as well.
Katie Cox trained and drove Spy Da Moment to victory in race 8
Then the final winner went the way of Sheree Tomlinson driving Ivana Legacy in race 9, paying $13.40 and $3.90.
And there are plenty more opportunities in the days ahead. There is Addington and Auckland tonight (Friday) , followed by Cambridge tomorrow, Winton on Sunday and finally the Amberley trotting Club racing on the grass at Rangiora on Monday.
