Southland's final race meeting of the 2020/2021 harness race season takes place at Ascot Park Raceway, Invercargill this Saturday (19 June).
Hosted by the Invercargill Harness Racing Club, nine races are scheduled with the first at 12.15pm. Admission is free.
A good crowd is expected with most of the corporate facilities booked out by groups for the event.
Feature races include the Southern Standardbred Breeders Assn Fillies & Mares Final Mobile Pace, the Level One Restaurant & Bar Nugget Final Mobile Pace, and the Beach Road Holiday Park Gold Chip Handicap Trot Final, each for a stake of $12,000.
The new season begins on Thursday 5 August back at Invercargill and Southern Harness Racing are already receiving inquiries from groups looking for function rooms and potential sponsors.
