Cam’s Card Shark dies in the U.S.

Cam’s Card Shark, the sire of super sire Bettor’s Delight, has died in Pennsylvania.

As a race horse he was a near $US2.5 million dollar earner and was the Dan Patch Horse of the Year in 2004. His major wins included the North America Cup, the Meadowlands Pace and the New Jersey Classic.  

As a stallion he sired more than 1800 foals, with best known of them being Bettor’s Delight, who would win more than two million on the track and then become the greatest stallion arguably of all time.

Cam’s Card Shark started his stud duties at Hanover Shoe Farms in New Jersey in 1995 before moving to their Main Farm in Pennsylvania in 2012. He was retired from stallion duty in 2014.

He remained at the farm till his death, at age 29.
