Gold Ace on track for NZ Cup

Gold Ace’s New Zealand Cup campaign looks back on track. And his road to the classic is likely to run through Addington this Friday.

One of the Cup favourites, Gold Ace hurt a hoof when he stood on a shoe at Ashburton last Monday and trainer Steven Reid feared he may not recover in time to get the racing needed to be ready for the Cup. But after working him yesterday morning, Reid is far happier.

“He is coming right and I am confident he will be able to start on Friday night,” said Reid.

“And if that is the case I will be able to get him to the Cup in the right shape.”
