2YO Spring racing schedule is out
With winter officially over in a fortnight, Harness Racing New Zealand is delighted to announce its 2YO Spring Racing Schedule.
Around $1.8m in stakes will be on offer from August 29 to the end of the year for 2YO Fillies and Colts and Geldings, for both gaits.
Included in the schedule are three $200,000 races - the NZB Harness Million 2YO Colts and Geldings Pace, the Woodlands Sires' Stakes Final on IRT New Zealand Cup day (Tuesday November 11) and the Dunstan Horse Feeds Sires' Stakes Final for the pacing fillies on Friday, November 14.
Show Day will also see the most lucrative race for the trotters with the $120,000 IRT Sires Stakes 2YO Championship.
Among the new races on the programme are the Group 3 Millwood Nike Pace and the Group 3 Gold Bracelet for the trotting fillies a week later on November 21 and the Murray Brown/Beaudiene Bad Babe Pace at Invercargill in December. Murray Brown, a successful and popular personality in the deep south, died last month. Beaudiene Bad Babe was a star performer for him, winning 22 overall and five races from 10 starts as a 2YO.
