Manager Integrity Assurance - Racing Integrity Unit
The Racing Integrity Unit (RIU) is responsible for the application of the Rules of Racing for the Thoroughbred, Greyhound and Harness codes within New Zealand. The ability of the RIU to ensure integrity is maintained at a high level is critical for public and investment confidence in the racing industry.
The RIU is further developing its investigatory functions and a vacancy exists for the role, Manager Integrity Assurance. This will be a key role contributing to the effective operation of the RIU, ensuring that the rules and regulations both on and off-course are followed and adhered too, with the result that racing is conducted with integrity, enhancing public confidence in our industry.
The role includes, but is not limited to the following:
Managing the integrity assurance team.
Overseeing non race day investigations and prosecutions.
Managing and optimizing the RIU intelligence collection, including identifying, and where applicable, implementing IT and technology requirements in the intelligence unit.
Managing internal relationships at a senior level.
Establishing positive relationships, with the ability to work with people and organizations at all levels across all three racing codes.
A flexible approach to working hours is required due to the requirements of the industry. Travel within New Zealand will be required. The role reports to the RIU General Manager.
You will have:
Knowledge of the racing industry and how it operates.
At least five years experience in managing a team in a regulatory, legal or police environment as a minimum requirement.
A high level of competency in IT operations.
Ability to meet deadlines.
A high standard of analytical, written and verbal skills are also required.
Importantly the appointee will be able to demonstrate a high level of integrity and be able to apply decisions consistently and objectively.
