Assistant Editor - Print/Web Media

Based in Christchurch, Harness Racing New Zealand (HRNZ) employs 28 full time staff and provides a comprehensive range of services to the Harness Racing industry.  The Harness Racing Weekly is the organisation’s flagship publication with a wider readership of 12,000 including subscribers in Australia, Canada and the US.

Due to an internal restructure a position exists for an Assistant Editor to aid in the daily operations of the magazine and manage our online news presence.

Applicants will have considerable journalistic experience, coupled with a strong knowledge of web based media. An ability to work as part of a tightly knit  team that often deals with strict deadlines is essential.

While some Harness Racing experience is preferred, an ability to build strong relationships with key partners and stakeholders from within the industry is critical. Superior written and verbal communication skills, with a proven ability to develop networks and uncover unique stories will be key attributes to your success.

As our web presence grows and we look to expand the online media services we provide, skills enabling you to drive this process and contribute to its development will be held in high regard.
