Forbury Park Winter Racing Series

Forbury Park Claimers Championship Series – Winter 2017

1. A series of three (3) heats culminating in a final to be held on June 29 2017 for Claiming pacers only.

2. All Heats and the final will be staged at Forbury TC meetings as follows:

Heat 1 $6,000 01-Jun 2200m Up to $8,000 Claimers only
Heat 2 $6,000 15-Jun 2200m Up to $9,000 Claimers only
Heat 3 $6,000 22-Jun 2200m Up to $10,000 Claimers only
Final $10,000 29-Jun 2200m Up to $10,000 Claimers only


All heats and final will be operated at Preferential Barrier Draws on based Claiming Price.

3. Any horse winning two heats will be ineligible to contest any further heats within the series.

4. A horse can start in as many heats as it wishes (subject to condition 3). A horse must start in at least two (2) heats to be eligible to contest the final. The first three (3) placed horses in each heat automatically qualify for the final. Automatic qualifiers are ineligible to compete in any other races on ‘Finals Night’ the 29 June 2017 at Forbury Park. The balance of the field for the final shall be selected by the Forbury Park Trotting Club from those horses that competed in the heats using the following order of Preference.

Order of Preference will be:

  1. Automatic Qualifiers
  2. Any horse that placed in the first four of a heat but is not an Automatic Qualifier
  3. Any horse that has started in 3 heats
  4. Any horse that has started in 2 heats
  5. Any horse that has started in 1 heat that nominated or accepted for an additional heat but was eliminated by the club or was a final acceptor for an abandoned race.

Where two or more horses are on the same Preference selection will be based on recent form, as determined by the club.

5. It is necessary to nominate for the final. This includes those horses that are automatic qualifiers.

6. All races in this series are Rating Penalty Free.

7. At least two (2) heats of this series must be held for the final to be run. If only two heats are held, the first four (4) placed horses in each heat will automatically qualify for the final.

8. The Club reserves the right to delete the final should there be fewer than eight (8) acceptors. 



Forbury Park Sprint Series – Winter 2017

1. A Series of three (3) heats culminating in a final to held on the 29th June 2017, for Up R55 4yo and older pacers at the close of nominations of the first heat 01st June 2017 (12 noon , 29 May 2017). Non-Winners (MR) pacers are also eligible to compete in this series but selection preference will be given to race winners.

2. Heats and Final all at Forbury Park Trotting Club meetings. All heats (June 1, 15 & 22) will be run for a stake $6,250. The final will be run for a stake of $10,000. All heats and final will be 1200-metre mobile events with a Preferential Barrier draw based on Rating using the track grid.

3. The fields will be consistent with the Track Safety Limits for this venue and distance (max 7 front line, 9 overall). There will be no emergencies for the heats or Finals owing to the Preferential Barrier Draws.
