Due to an accident occurring in the stabling area resulting in horseman J Abernethy suffering a haematoma on his left forearm. Ambulance staff stood him down for this meeting. Stipendiary Stewards authorised S Phelan as the replacement driver for KOTARE CASINO in Race 3, PAINTED BLACK in Race 4 and  PIPIWHARUA in Race 5.

RACE 1:  ELSU @ ALABAR MOBILE PACE
Start time: 18.35        Actual start time:    18.36.08        
While racing into the first bend REGAL ENCOUNTER (L Neal) tightened MACY VICTORY causing this horse to gallop. This resulted in checks to LOMA FAY, ANACONDA, MACY VICTORY and APACHE CHIEF.
As a result of this incident, horsewoman L Neal admitted a breach of Rule 869(3)(b) in that she drove REGAL ENCOUNTER carelessly. The JCA imposed a suspension at the conclusion of racing tonight up to and including 9 December 2010.
An information was lodged under Rule 869(4) alleging horsewoman L Neal driving REGAL COUNTER trailed UNCLE WINGNUT too closely coming into contact causing her own horse to gallop losing its chance with approximately 400m to run. The charge was proven and L Neal was given a Judicial warning.
LIBBIEMACK (T Herlihy) ran out momentarily rounding the final turn for the run home.

RACE 2:  GOTTA GO CULLECT @ ALABAR HANDICAP PACE

There were no claims from this event.
EASTWOOD PHARAOH was a late scratching at 8.55am due to swelling in a leg.
As the start was effected JONNY WILKINSON (J Stables) reared and ran sharply onto TOUCHE EXPRESS which in turn dislodged driver R Downey from the sulky. Trainer J Stables was warned to improve this horses racing manners.  An associated charge was lodged under Rule 862(2) in that J Stables failed to start JONNY WILKINSON from its correct barrier position. The charge was admitted and J Stables horseman's licence was suspended after racing tonight up to and including 17 December 2010.

RACE 3:  ALABAR SIRES STAKES 3YO FILLIES HEAT MOBILE PACE

Shortly after dispatch CHRISTIAN MIRACLE broke free of interference and fell dislodging horseman T Mitchell who fell awkwardly. Trainer M Berger was advised this horse had been stood down for 28 days up to and including  18 December 2010. On course
Ambulance staff cleared horseman T Michell for his remaining driving obligations. Trainer M Berger was also advised to improve the racing manners of EAGLETONS GIRL. EAGLETONS GIRL broke free of interference with 450m to run. Horseman G Robb was reminded of his obligations under Rule 869(2)(c) in regard to the manner in which he used his whip.

RACE 4: DENISE TINDLE UNITED TRAVEL MOBILE PACE

ARJAYEM was observed to strike several pylons rounding the home bend. With 250m to run ANVIL BEIRNES, after protruding inside the pylons broke causing a check to ROYAL MISSION. Horseman T MacFarlane advised Stewards this horse was hitting its knee at the time.  Trainer T Hall was warned to improve this horses racing manners.

RACE 5: REAL DESIRE @ ALABAR MOBILE PACE

PIPIWHARUA was a length out of position at dispatch despite the urgings of horseman S Phelan. Trainer A Bublitz was warned to improve the racing manners of FLIP THE COIN. FLIP THE COIN raced unkindly over the last 600m of this race pacing roughly and eventually breaking. STARRY STYX was removed from the unruly position for its future mobile starts

RACE 6: GRAHAM BROWN & CO LTD JUNIOR DRIVERS MOBILE PACE

Favourite AGENT SMART  (J Dickie) settled in the one one early, was then forced to race parked for the remainder of this event finishing 6th, five lengths from the winner.

RACE 7: GREAT SUCCESS @ ALABAR HANDICAP TROT

The Veterinary Certificate of Fitness for CHOCOLATE BROWNIE was provided for this horse to resume racing. CHAS LUNEY was a late scratching at 10.30am with a Veterinary Certificate provided. As this horse was entered as a claimer it was declared ineligible for all stake bearing events for 28 days up to and including 18 December 2010.

SYANNE broke at the start losing all chance and was eventually pulled up out of this event. Trainer L Chin was advised this horse had been stood down for 14 days up to and including 4 December 2010. PRETTY TO WATCH broke at the start losing its chance while LINDENNY'S SUNSHINE and SUNOVER DOVER both broke while trotting into the first bend. CHOCOLATE BROWNIE broke at the start causing FLASHMAN to break with this mare losing all chance. CANYOUWATCHOVERME broke free of interference with 1200m to run with trainer B Lloyd warned to improve this horses racing manners.
A protest was lodged under Rule 869  into the 4th placing being awarded to CHOCOLATE BROWNIE (D Butcher) on the grounds of interference to FLASHMAN (T Mitchell) at the start. The charge was not contested and CHOCOLATE BROWNIE was disqualified.

The amended placings read:

RACE 9: EARL @ ALABAR HANDICAP TROT

GREAT BARRIER reared and fell at the start. Others to break at the start or during the running were BOYS R BEST, WOODNHEBENICE, CASTLETON'S MAN, SUBRITZKY and DEREK CLARKE. The authorisation of the payment of dividends was withheld firstly into whether GREAT BARRIER received a fair start and secondly a protest into the 4th placing of DEREK CLARK on the grounds that this horse galloped in excess of 50m inside the last 200m of the race in contravention of the Breaking Horse Regulations.
After reviewing the replays of the start GREAT BARRIER was declared a starter and trainer D Alexander was advised that this horse has been declared ineligible for 14 days up to and including 4 December 2010.
The protest against the 4th placing of DEREK CLARKE was not contested and the JCA disqualified DEREK CLARKE from the race. Trainer S Argue was warned to improve its racing manners.

Trainer L Chin was advised SUBRITZKY had been stood down for 14 days up to and including 4th December 2010. SUBRITZKY galloped badly at the start and lost all chance. Trainer B Lloyd was warned to improve the standing start manners of BOYS R BEST.  BOYS R BEST galloped at the start checking its stable mate MR INTERNATIONAL. Trainer N Chilcott was advised that WOODNHEBENICE has been declared inelgible for 14 days up to and including 4 December 2010. WOODENEBENICE paced over the early stages of the race and then galloped.

RACE 10:  SANTANA BLUE CHIP @ ALABAR MOBILE PACE

Dual acceptor MILLWOODMANHATTAN was a late scratching from this event.
An information was lodged under Rule 857(7)(g) alleging that Junior Horsewoman K Blakemore failed to maintain her barrier position with SIXPENCE at the start of the race. After viewing the video replay and hearing evidence from Junior horseman K Blakemore in the presence of senior horseman L Hollis, K Blakemore admitted the charge and the JCA imposed a fine of $200.
Favourite RUBY RYAN (P Butcher) led throughout and was run down into 5th placing 2.3 lengths away from the winner.
