RACE 1 - LAURA FERGUSSON WOMEN'S COMMITTEE MOBILE PACE
Advertised start time: 5.50 p.m. Actual start time: 5.51.50 p.m.
ELL RAISOR (R. Fensom) broke over the concluding stages.  SPEEDSTAR (Z. Butcher) failed to get clear racing room over the concluding stages finishing an unlucky 7th. An information was lodged alleging a breach of Rule 869(2)(a) in that horseman T. Macfarlane used his whip excessively when driving ARDLY A DIAMOND over the concluding stages of the race.  The breach was upheld and the J.C.A. imposed a fine of $200.00.

RACE 2 - PASCOES THE JEWELLERS MOBILE PACE
Advertised start time: 6.20 p.m.  Actual start time: 6.21.02 p.m.
GODS GIRL (P.C. Ferguson) broke with approximately 1200m to run.  P.C. Ferguson advised that he was disappointed with GODS GIRL'S performance and the connections would be having this horse vetted before it resumed racing.  BELLS ON FIRE (B. Mangos) and ARDEN MAJOR (S. Lawson) weakened on the home bend.

RACE 3 - MAGNESS BENROW FISHER & PAYKEL MOBILE PACE
Advertised start time:  6.50 p.m.  Actual start time: 6.51.15 p.m.
BRUNO was a late scratching on veterinary advice prior to the start after an examination revealed that this horse was bleeding from a puncture in the sole of its off fore hoof and was lame.

RACE 4 - LAURA FERGUSSON TRUST MOBILE PACE
Advertised start time:  7.20 p.m. Actual start time: 7.21.09 p.m.
Mudguards were required for the remainder of the programme.  MAHEER MAGIC (M.W. McKendry) was observed to strike two pylons on the home bend.

RACE 5 - BERT CLAPHAM MEMORIAL MOBILE PACE
Advertised start time: 7.45 p.m.   Actual start time: 7.45.46 p.m.
Favourite TARA SAHARA (P. Butcher) broke after 200m settling at the rear, this horse recovered well to win the event.

RACE 6 - MAGNESS BENROW PANASONIC HANDICAP TROT
Advertised start time: 8.20 p.m. Actual start time: 8.21.25 p.m.
MEYER LANSKY was slow to move off at the start.  Horses to make mistakes at the start or during the running were ILLUMINATI, JIMMY'S DREAM and ALIEN WAITS.  Favourite KINGDOM OF HEAVEN (O. Gillies) broke after 150m settling at the rear, raced five back and one out inside the 1000m, broke at the 400m losing its chance.  Junior Horseman O. Gillies advised that KINGDOM OF HEAVEN had pulled a shoe when in its early gallop.  An information was lodged alleging a breach of Rule 865(2) in that trainers D. Balle and O. Gillies failed to present CHAS LUNEY with the notified half blinds.  CHAS LUNEY raced in an open bridle.  The breach was admitted and the J.C.A. imposed a fine of $100.00.  CHAS LUNEY was not claimed from this event.

RACE 7 - DILMAH MOBILE PACE
Advertised start time: 8.45 p.m.  Actual start time:  8.46.29 p.m.
CHESTERTON broke losing its chance with 1800m to run.  Trainers D. Balle and O. Gillies were warned to improve CHESTERTON'S racing manners.  Favourite EXCEPTIONAL CULLEN (A.G. Herlihy) settled three back and one out, improved to race outside the leader at the 1200m, received cover one out and one back inside the 1000m, held up for clear racing room early in the run home, when clear ran on to finish 6th.

RACE 8 - MUSTAD NEW ZEALAND CLAIMERS MOBILE PACE
Advertised start time: 9.11 p.m.  Actual start time:  9.12.10 p.m.
Favourite CARLOS raced one out without cover early, eased back to race 4th in single file, improved one out without cover inside the 1200m, battled in the run home to finish 5th.  No horses were claimed from this event.

RACE 9 - MAJESTIC HORSE FLOATS HANDICAP TROT
Advertised start time: 9.41 p.m.  Actual start time:  9.41.59 p.m.
Horses to make mistakes at the start or during the running were SILVER STREAM, KATELIN BROOKE, GRANT OUR CHANCES, SARAH, CARMEN ELECTRA and ZUTANO.  GRANT OUR CHANCES (B. Hackett) failed to get clear racing room over the concluding stages finishing an unlucky 5th.  Favourite ME AN KEL (D. Butcher) settled third, improved to lead at the 1800m, led entering the home straight and was run down over the concluding stages finishing 4th.

RACE 10 - WOODLANDS STUD MOBILE PACE
Advertised start time: 10.11 p.m.  Actual start time: 10.11.34 p.m.
Trainer R. Fensom was warned to improve MANTECA'S mobile barrier manners.  MANTECA broke at the start settling well back.  EASTWOOD PEAL (P. Butcher) struck two pylons with 1400m to run and when in the home straight raced erratically running inside the pylons.  Trainer G. Stewart was warned to improve EASTWOOD PEAL'S racing manners.
