RACE 1: BRYLIN BOYZ HDCP TROT
Advertised start time: 5.58pm            Official start time: 5.59:04pm
There was a slight delay to the start after MUM BEAT LYALL had thrown itself on the track. Horses to break over the early stages were KELLY EVANDER, FAIRY GODMOTHER and BRITE BELLE with BRITE BELLE breaking again during the running losing all chance. The favourite SKYS THE LIMIT broke on the first bend before settling. EURO broke several times during the running. HEZA BRITESPARK broke with 450m to run briefly checking MUM BEAT LYALL. FAIRY GODMOTHER broke with 350m to run. A veterinary examination was conducted on FAIRY GODMOTHER which revealed a serious tendon injury. This mare will require a veterinary clearance before resuming racing. Authorisation of second placing being awarded to SKYS THE LIMIT was withheld until it was confirmed SKYS THE LIMIT did not breach the Breaking Horse Regulations over the early stages. A Protest was lodged into the fourth placing of HEZA BRITESPARK under Rule 870(3) & (4)(a) in that with approx. 450m to run HEZA BRITESPARK broke and failed to promptly regain its correct gait. The JCA upheld the Protest and HEZA BRITESPARK was disqualified. Official placings are now 1st TORASION, 2nd SKYS THE LIMIT, 3rd HONEY PIE, 4th MUM BEAT LYALL, and 5th FAIRY GODMOTHER. AG Russell (HEZA BRITESPARK) was reminded of his obligations to take a breaking runner clear of other runners as soon as practical. AL Stratford (SKYS THE LIMIT) was questioned by the Stewards regarding the manner he drove over the final stages. AL Stratford advised the Stewards the mare had broken in its previous start and earlier during the race, was trotting roughly and he believed she was trying her best in the home straight after being parked from the 1200m mark. AL Stratford's explanation was accepted however he was advised to leave no doubt in the future regarding the manner he drives the mare.

RACE 2: PICK 6 $40,000 FIRST LEG MOBILE PACE
Advertised start time: 6.23pm            Official start time: 6.23:21pm
SUPER SASSY was slow to begin. LAVENDER LACE and BOOGIE'S BARNETT raced greenly in the score up and were back off the gate at the start. SOLDIER ON hung outwards on the first bend when racing greenly. In the home straight SHOOT NO BLANKS was unable to gain clear racing room.

RACE 3: WASHINGTON VC MOBILE PACE
Advertised start time: 6.48pm            Official start time: 6.48:33pm
BIG ROCKET raced greenly racing into the first bend and veered outwards prior to improving to the parked position. MONSTER PARK struck several pylons with approx 750m to run. MONSTER PARK broke a hopple strap during the running. The gear was inspected by the Stewards and found to be in reasonable condition. BE O'Connor (BIG ROCKET) advised the Stewards the mare cross fired and threw a bell boot shortly after the start causing it to veer outwards racing into the first bend. BE O'Connor was severely reprimanded by the Stewards for the manner he drove during the running and advised a higher standard of horsemanship would be required in the future.

RACE 4: VITAL STOCKFOODS HDCP TROT
Advertised start time: 7.18pm            Official start time: 7.18:29pm
AYLESHAM was slow to begin. ALL ACTION MAN broke soon after the start and again with 1900m to run losing considerable ground and was eventually pulled up. AYLESHAM broke briefly shortly after straightening up in the run home. TORSHANT and RON'S GIRL also broke in the home straight losing their winning chances.

RACE 5: DUNEDIN CITY MOTORS PACE
Advertised start time: 7.43pm            Official start time: 7.43:50pm
MADDISON RENEE and TAIERI WINGS tangled briefly shortly after the start but quickly settled. KAI CLUTHA CONNEXION was caught wide over the early stages and was restrained to the back of the field. With approx 300m to run CAPITAL GUEST broke free of interference when racing midfield. CM Hanna advised the Stewards CAPITAL GUEST broke after he shifted ground outwards rounding the final bend. The favourite PARIS H settled five deep on the inner, improved wide with cover rounding the final bend and finished strongly in the home straight for fourth placing.

RACE 6: FORBURY SPORTS BAR MOBILE PACE
Advertised start time: 8.15pm         Official start time: 8.15:52pm
LADY LOZZA raced keenly while being challenged for the lead by MIGHTY MEMORIES over the early stages then tired from the 400m mark.

RACE 7: RACING HERE AGAIN SEPTEMBER 10TH HDCP PACE
Advertised start time: 8.40pm         Official start time: 8.40:45pm
LADY SHAMROCK sprung a front shoe in the preliminary and it was removed prior to the start. The favourite FIERY RASCAL broke at the start, settling several lengths off the back of the field. LIFES DECISION brushed pylons rounding the final bend. OUR MONTY paced roughly in the home straight.  PLEASANTLY PERFECT hung inwards in the home straight while improving wide on the track.

ANVILS NEVER EASY (CT Dalgety), WOODLEA COSMOS (TM Twidle), THE FIERY GINGA (AL Clark), OSCAR ROYCE (W & N Davies), ARTOIS (D & C Butt).
