RACE 1 - NORTHERN SOUTHLAND TC MOBILE PACE
Advertised start time: 6.25 p.m. Actual start time: 6.25.30 p.m
With approximately 1600m to run CC STAR (M.W. McKendry) broke when racing towards the rear of the field when getting on to the back of ATTENTION SEEKER (A. Neal) after an easing of the pace when SWIFT THERAPY (A.G. Herlihy) shifted from three back on the running line to sit parked. A.G. Herlihy shifted SWIFT THERAPY wider on the track with approximately 500m to run after the gelding paced roughly, continuing to race three wide after LIMITED EDITION (N.R. McGrath) improved its position.
RACE 2 - THE INTRENCHED LION CONSTRUCTION MOBILE PACE
Advertised start time: 6.55 p.m. Actual start time: 6.55.24 p.m.
After approximately 200m POCKET MACH broke locking wheels with INDULGE (D.J. Butcher) after POCKET MACH (F.D. Cooney) was forced to race in confined quarters on the inside of SOUNDS ALIVE (K.M. Barron). MAHEER MAGIC struck pylons rounding the final bend. SLOANE SQUARE and SOUNDS ALIVE were held up for clear racing room in the run home with driver K.M. Barron (SOUNDS ALIVE) advising he did not activate the removable ear plugs. An information was lodged alleging a breach of Rule 865(4) in that Trainer M. Berger presented BINTO WAR in the assembly area to race without the notified half blinds. The breach was admitted and the J.C.A. imposed a fine of $100.00. An information was lodged against K.M. Barron (SOUNDS ALIVE) under Rule 869(3)(b) for alleged interference to POCKET MACH and INDULGE after approximately 200m. After viewing the replay and hearing the relative evidence the J.C.A. dismissed the charge.
RACE 3 - CROMBIE LOCKWOOD MOBILE PACE
Advertised start time: 7.25 p.m. Actual start time: 7.25.30 p.m.
After approximately 250m BEAUDIENE CHRISTIAN broke when being forced to race in confined quarters and striking pylons after WOT THE OWL attempted to shift into the trail behind CAST OFF COURAGE. BEAUDIENE CHRISTIAN was retired from the event. With approximately 500m to run DOREENS DREAM broke when racing four back on the inner inconveniencing BALTIC WARRIOR. The connections of DOREENS DREAM were warned to improve the mare's racing manners. Following the running of this event Driver P. Young (WOT THE OWL) was charged under Rule 869(3)(b) - careless driving - causing interference to BEAUDIENE CHRISTIAN after approximately 300m. After viewing the replay and hearing the relative evidence the J.C.A. suspended driver P. Young's horseman's licence up to and including 9th April 2010.
RACE 4 - COCA COLA MOBILE PACE

D.J. Butcher (PERFECT CULLEN) advised that the off side tyre went flat with approximately 800m to run with the tyre and tube coming off the rim early in the run home. REKLAW'S CHANCE over-raced when leading. Driver K.M. Barron advised he did not activate the removable earplugs on STILL COUGHIN after being held up for clear racing room in the run home.
RACE 5 - CULLEN BREEDING YOUNG GUNS DELIGHTFUL LADY PACE
Advertised start time: 8.20 p.m. Actual start time: 8.20.21 p.m.
MILLWOOD MANHATTAN broke early in the score up losing all chance while shortly after the start KILMORE paced roughly taking no serious part in the event. MAJESTIC BELLE struck pylons with approximately 1200m to run and again rounding the final bend when racing four back on the inner. The connections of MILLWOOD MANHATTAN were advised that their filly had been declared unruly for future mobile starts. The connections of KILMORE were warned to improve the filly's mobile barrier manners with trainer D.E. Kaa advising that he would be turning the filly out.
RACE 6 - BRECKON FARMS YOUNG GUNS CARDIGAN BAY STAKES
Advertised start time: 8.52 p.m. Actual start time: 8.52.13 p.m.
MAJOR OBSESSION paced roughly shortly after the start when attempting to improve to the lead. JARCULLEMBRA paced roughly early in the run home when shifting out for a run and ran on well for 4th place once settled.
RACE 7 - WOODLANDS STUD NORTHERN DERBY
Advertised start time: 9.20 p.m. Actual start time: 9.20.39 p.m.
A veterinary certificate of clearance was received for SIR LINCOLN. After approximately 200m FEELS LIKE MAGIC (A.M. Butt) hung inwards striking a number of pylons and breaking while shortly after HIP HOP ANVIL (D.J. Dunn) broke when racing on the inside of RUSSLEY RACAL (B.N. Orange). SECRET POTION (N. Molander) struck a number of pylons in the run home in attempting to secure a run on the inside of GOMEO ROMEO (D.J. Butcher) in the passing lane. Authorisation of 1st placing being awarded to RUSSLEY RASCAL (B.N. Orange) was withheld until driver D.J. Dunn advised that HIP HOP ANVIL had run out with the gelding's hind leg striking the sulky wheel of RUSSLEY RASCAL, due to the gelding's own manners and did not place any blame on RUSSLEY RASCAL. The connections of FEELS LIKE MAGIC and HIP HOP ANVIL were warned to improve their gelding's racing manners. Authorisation of 4th placing being awarded to GOMEO ROMEO was withheld after an investigation into an incident with approximately 1500m to run when RUSSLEY RASCAL, when leading, was forced over a number of pylons when being crossed by GOMEO ROMEO. Driver N. Molander elected not to continue on with a protest after being given the opportunity. Placings were duly authorized. Driver N. Molander (SECRET POTION) admitted a breach of Rule 869(7A) (a) and (b) for striking pylons in the run home when attempting to improve in the passing lane when there was insufficient room with the J.C.A. imposing a $250.00 fine. Driver J. Stormont (ERIDANUS) admitted a breach of Rule 857 (7)(g) for being out of position at the start when being back off the mobile gate and was fined $250.00 by the J.C.A. Driver C.J. De Filippi was reminded of his obligations to be in position at the start. FOUR STARZZZ FLASH after initially being on the gate paced roughly for several strides being restrained to start a length back at dispatch.
RACE 8 - TRILLIAN TRUST AUCKLAND CUP
Advertised start time: 9.50 p.m. Actual start time: 9.53.32 p.m.
A false start was declared when OHOKA DALLAS broke inconveniencing trailing runners with OHOKA DALLAS being sent to the outside of the mobile gate for the restart. The connections of OHOKA DALLAS were warned to improve the gelding's mobile barrier manners. With approximately 1400m to run a plastic bag blew across the track in front of the field, however, no runners were affected. MONKEY KING hung in just short of the winning post. An information was lodged against Trainer G. Small under Rule 865(4) after AWESOME ARMBRO was presented in the birdcage without the half blinds that it had previously worn with this inquiry being opened and adjourned sine die.
RACE 9 - AUCKLAND CO-OP TAXIS CITY OF SAILS FFA TROT

Driver T. Macfarlane dropped his leg out of the sulky rest on GENIUS rounding the final bend.
RACE 10 - NZ METROPOLITAN TC HANDICAP TROT
Advertised start time: 10.50 p.m. Actual start time: 10.50.12 p.m.
As the start was declared FOXTROT JACK reared and momentarily sat on its rump before regaining its feet and trotting away. Shortly after the start DUCHENNE broke losing all chance. SHEBAR SPIDER broke when improving into the passing lane in the run home.
GENERAL:
Adjourned inquiry from the ATC meeting on 5th March 2010 - Race 9:
After reviewing the film and hearing from driver D.J. Dunn (BETTOR'S STRIKE) the information under Rule 869 (3)(b) was withdrawn. However driver D.J. Dunn was reminded of his obligations regarding the Easing Down Regulations.
