Mr Marks' comments were noted with a warning placed on the geldings racing performance. J R Dunn advised that it was the colt's first start back for six months and stated that he was of the opinion that M P Jones (FRANCO TRANSIT) always had the intention to lead and felt that his colt was best to take the trail on this occasion but was disappointed when FRANCO TRANSIT which had good form commenced to tire with 700m to run. An investigation was held into a possible breach of the Push Out Rule after FRANCO TRANSIT was forced to raced wider on the track after approx 500m when MACH BANNER shifted from the trail to the one out line. After hearing from drivers J R Dunn (MACH BANNER) and M P Jones (FRANCO TRANSIT) and viewing the replay it was established that FRANCO TRANSIT had not been progressing forward when racing on the outside of MACH BANNER.
