It is my privilege to once again issue an invitation to all devotees of harness racing to the third running of the fabulous Harness Jewels race day.
Many of those attending the inaugural running in 2007 declared it to be the best day
at the races – ever! We don’t plan to do too much different and once again the day is set to be a stunning occasion.
Our Friday evening function will be making full use of the good services of Tony Lee
and featuring the “Presentation of the Colours” to the owners of the series leaders. Saturday raceday will again begin with a champagne breakfast in our Harness Racing Museum. This event was oversubscribed last time and places will go quickly again. Dean Lester will again host the day’s proceedings on two big screens with just
enough entertainment to not intrude on the racing. Sunday sees our traditional
Queen’s Birthday function and on Monday there’s another full card of racing.
2007 was a great day and it’s going to be hard to beat that, but we’re working on it
and I can guarantee an occasion that’s not to be missed.
