– Determination of New Zealand entrants
(1) The top points scorer from each island at 31 January 2012 in the Australasian Young Drivers Qualifying Championship will be deemed North Island and South Island representatives. Along with the New Zealand (NZ) representative they will be selected to represent NZ at the Australasian Young Drivers Championship in Western Australia, during February & March.
(2) The NZ representative for the 2012 Australasian Young Drivers Championship will be determined by running the 2011/12 Australasian Young Drivers Qualifying Championship, which runs from 1 August 2011 to 31 January 2012 and encompasses all races restricted to junior drivers. The NZ representative will be the junior driver with the best UDR rating (15 drives minimum) in junior driver races, provided he/she meets the Australasian Young Drivers Championship criteria.
(3) If either the North Island or South Island representative is the leading UDR driver, then the second placed UDR driver will become the NZ representative.
(4) If the 2011 Defending Australasian Young Drivers Champion is either a leading point scorer or the leading UDR driver then the runner-up in the category concerned will become the representative for the 2012 Australasian Young Drivers Championship.

Horse Movement Regulation
There may be instances where Trainers intend campaigning
their horse/s away from their registered stable for a period
of 14 or more consecutive days, particularly over the up
coming Christmas/New Year period. If this is the case, a
Trainer must complete a Horse Movement Notification Form and
send it to HRNZ prior to the date of departure.
Additionally, for horses away from their registered stable
location for more than 12 consecutive weeks, authority must
be sought by the HRNZ Board (in writing signed by the Chief
Executive) for a Trainer to operate more than one stable or
for the horse to be transferred to another stable.
The Registered Trainer must contact by telephone an HRNZ
Stipendiary Steward if the horse returns to its registered
stable location prior to the ‘intended date of departure’ -
that has been notified on the Horse Movement Notification
Form.”
The Horse Movement Regulation was implemented by HRNZ for
the following reasons:
• To know who is in charge of the horse/s on raceday;
• To know the location of all horses in the wake of a
disease outbreak;
• Make punters aware of the actual location of the horse/s;
• So that HRNZ is aware of the location of horse/s; and
• In light of a positive sample, knowing the location of the
horse/s.

Transaction Charge & new Fee Schedule
- 1 October
Under the Rules of Harness Racing, transactions submitted to
HRNZ must be accompanied by the appropriate fee. (i.e.
cheque, advice of direct credit payment or ‘credit card to
charge’ details must be attached to the paperwork.)
The Board of HRNZ have approved a $25 transaction surcharge
be introduced from October 1 when a transaction is received
here without the complete or appropriate fee.
For a short time following the introduction of the
surcharge, the HRNZ staff member responsible for processing
the transaction will try to contact the sender and give them
the opportunity to pay the balance that day. We believe this
approach to be pro-active and to encourage people to comply
with the Rules and send the correct fee.
